Israeli strike in West Bekaa kills Hezbollah member

Israel’s military announced on Thursday that it killed a Hezbollah member responsible for launching explosive drones into Israel. The strike was conducted via drone and targeted the Hezbollah member riding a motorcycle in the village of Sohmor in West Bekaa. Hezbollah confirmed the death of their member, Ali Ahmad Alaeddine, and scheduled his funeral for Friday in Sohmor.

The Lebanon-Israel border has seen daily exchanges of fire since the start of the Israel-Hamas war in October. Hezbollah has stated it will continue its attacks until Israel ceases its operations in Gaza. Israeli strikes have resulted in over 400 deaths in Lebanon, including Hezbollah militants and more than 80 civilians. In northern Israel, 16 soldiers and 11 civilians have died from attacks launched from Lebanon.
