One person was killed and several civilians were injured on Monday in an Israeli drone strike targeting a motorbike outside Salah Ghandour Hospital in the southern town of Bint Jbeil.
According to the state-run National News Agency (NNA), “an enemy drone” struck “a motorcycle near Salah Ghandour hospital in Bint Jbeil,” killing the driver and injuring others, although it did not specify if the injured were civilians.
The hospital, managed by the Islamic Health Committee associated with Hezbollah, confirmed that one person was killed and nine others were injured, with four in serious condition.
An AFP photographer at the scene observed a charred motorbike near the hospital entrance.
The Israeli army did not immediately comment on this specific strike but stated that it had targeted other areas in southern Lebanon in response to “terrorist launches.”
Mohammed Suleiman, the director of Salah Ghandour Hospital, reported receiving one fatality and nine injured individuals, most of whom were “civilians who were in front of the hospital, where family members and people accompanying patients usually gather.”
Two of the injured were in “highly sensitive” condition, and the strike caused minor damage to the hospital.
On Sunday, Israeli strikes targeted motorbikes in three different border villages in southern Lebanon, killing seven people, including five Hezbollah fighters, in Houla, Aita al-Shaab, and Naqoura on the coast.
Last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted at “surprising plans” for Lebanon. Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah mocked these remarks, asserting that it was Gaza and Hezbollah that surprised Israel on October 7 and October 8.
