The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced they are preparing a robust response to the recent Iranian ballistic missile strike, which involved approximately 200 missiles, as reported by the Times of Israel last Saturday. The IDF has stated that this attack will not go unanswered and that it will have significant repercussions.
In a detailed operation, the IDF’s Commando Brigade and the elite Yaholam Unit took decisive action against Hezbollah by destroying several tunnel shafts that were reportedly being used by militants to approach the Israeli border from southern Lebanon. This operation also targeted underground weapon caches, observation points, and rocket launching pads located in southern Lebanese villages.
In these intense military activities, the IDF claims to have eliminated dozens of Hezbollah militants through coordinated airstrikes and on-ground engagements. To date, the Israeli military asserts that it has killed over 400 Hezbollah operatives during its ground operations in the region.
These operations are described by the IDF as precise and focused, aimed at significantly disrupting Hezbollah’s infrastructure along the border. The main objective is to demolish strategic assets within villages close to Israel to ensure the safety of northern Israeli residents and facilitate their return.
Additionally, the Israeli forces have concentrated their efforts on what they identify as Hezbollah’s strategic strongholds in southern Lebanon, where they have discovered extensive weapon stockpiles.
One notable action included an IDF drone strike on a Hezbollah command center located within a mosque at the Martyr Salah Ghandour Hospital compound in the town of Bint Jbeil, southern Lebanon. The IDF highlighted that this strike was executed with precision, based on reliable intelligence.
