On Sunday, Israel executed a series of airstrikes in southern Lebanon, coupled with artillery assaults on several border towns.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, Israeli aircraft and unmanned drones targeted a residence and a gas station in Kfarkila with two separate attacks. Additionally, Israeli jets launched multiple missiles at the al-Labbouneh forests, located between Naqoura and Alma al-Shaab, and a drone struck an unoccupied house in Maroun al-Ras.
Concurrently, artillery fire was directed at Maroun al-Ras and the nearby areas of Tayr Harfa and Majdal Zoun.
In a separate incident, Al-Arabiya’s Al-Hadath TV reported the downing of a drone, believed to have originated from Lebanon, over northern Israel.
The border between Israel and Lebanon has been a hotspot for increasing violence, particularly between the Israeli military and Hezbollah, since the onset of the Israel-Hamas conflict on October 7. Since then, over 160 individuals have been killed on the Lebanese side, predominantly Hezbollah fighters but also including over 20 civilians, with three journalists among the casualties.
On the Israeli side, the conflict has claimed the lives of at least five civilians and nine soldiers, as reported by Israeli military sources.
Hezbollah has been consistently launching daily attacks against Israeli forces and positions, claiming to do so in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. Meanwhile, Israel has been conducting strikes in southern Lebanon.
