Israel-Hezbollah Border Clashes: Latest Updates

Hezbollah announced on Tuesday that it had targeted multiple Israeli military positions and captured an Israeli Skylark drone.

The militant group stated that it conducted successful strikes on soldier groups located in the Mattat barracks, al-Marj post, and the Hunin fortress near Margaliot. Additionally, Hezbollah targeted surveillance systems in Hadb Yarin and a police facility in Kiryat Shmona.

Earlier in the day, Israeli forces utilized heavy-caliber machine guns against areas including al-Labbouneh, al-Naqoura, and Alma al-Shaab. Subsequently, the Israeli military launched airstrikes and artillery fire on several towns along the southern border, including Ramia, Yarin, Yaroun, Shihin, Jabal Blat, Markaba, Mays al-Jabal, Aitaroun, and Houla.

Overnight, Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling, which included the use of flare bombs, resulted in the deaths of at least two Hezbollah members and two fighters from Al-Quds Brigades, the military arm of the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad, which also operates in Lebanon.

Hezbollah confirmed the deaths of two of its members from the town of Tallouseh, near the border, stating they were killed “on the road to Jerusalem,” a term used to describe militants killed by Israeli forces since the conflict began.

In Tayr Harfa, close to Bint Jbeil where a previous Israeli airstrike severely injured a Hezbollah official, a strike on a residential building severely injured two individuals. Al-Quds Brigades later reported that two of its fighters died “at the border with occupied Palestine.”

The Israeli military reported targeting “military structures and a military site” in the area and in Maroun El Ras.

Hezbollah claimed it had launched seven attacks on Israeli border sites on Monday alone.

As of Tuesday, Hezbollah said it had attacked northern Israel over 1,020 times since October 8.

The ongoing cross-border exchanges since the beginning of the Israeli offensive in Gaza have resulted in at least 238 deaths in Lebanon, including many Hezbollah fighters and approximately 30 civilians, as per an AFP compilation.

On the Israeli side, the conflict has claimed the lives of nine soldiers and six civilians due to encounters with fighters based in Lebanon, as reported by the Israeli army.
