On Monday, the Israeli army bombarded several towns along the southern border of Lebanon in retaliation to Hezbollah’s attacks on soldier groups in northern Israel.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for striking multiple Israeli positions, including Ruwaisat al-Alam, al-Baghdadi post, and groups of soldiers located in Shtula, Misgav Am, Karm al-Touffah near the Branit Barracks, and al-Raheb post. They asserted that their attacks were direct hits, resulting in casualties.
In response, the Israeli military carried out various forms of aggression, including airstrikes, artillery shelling, and the use of flares and white phosphorus shells. The targeted areas included the outskirts of several Lebanese border towns, such as Odeisseh, Kfarkela, al-Naqoura, Kfarshouba, Mhaibib, Mays al-Jabal, Ayta al-Shaab, Yaroun, Dhaira, Halta, Marwahin, Ainata, Maroun el-Ras, and Alma al-Shaab.
Additionally, twenty rockets were launched from southern Lebanon towards a region in northern Israel between Shtula and Mattat.
During the overnight conflicts, three Israeli soldiers were reportedly injured by a mortar shell attack in Shtula, as stated by Avichay Adraee, the Israeli army’s Arabic-language spokesperson. Other mortar shells from Lebanon struck an Israeli post in Yiftah.
On the preceding Sunday, Hezbollah’s attacks in the Beit Hillel area resulted in injuries to eight soldiers and three civilians.
