Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has called for the execution of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu due to his involvement in the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon. During a speech on Monday to members of the Basij, the volunteer force of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, Khamenei referred to the arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for Netanyahu and Israel’s former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
Khamenei described Israel’s actions in Gaza and Lebanon as war crimes, emphasizing that the ICC’s move was insufficient. He stated that Netanyahu and the Israeli leaders responsible should be sentenced to death, although the ICC does not have the authority to impose such a sentence.
The Iranian leader also declared that the conflict would strengthen groups within Iran’s “Axis of Resistance,” including Hamas and Hezbollah. He dismissed the idea that Israel’s military actions in Gaza and Lebanon could be seen as victories, insisting that the enemy had not prevailed in either location and would not do so.
