Iran on Tuesday dismissed calls from Western nations to refrain from retaliating against Israel for the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran late last month.
In a statement, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanani criticized the declaration from France, Germany, and Britain, which urged Iran to avoid taking action against Israel. Kanani accused these countries of ignoring what he described as “international crimes” committed by the Zionist regime and questioned their logic in asking Iran to refrain from defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He argued that such a request not only defies political reasoning but also contradicts the principles of international law, effectively providing overt support for Israel.
