Iran Denies Lebanon’s Accusation of Interference in Domestic Affairs

Iran on Monday dismissed an allegation made by Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, who had accused Tehran of meddling in Lebanon’s internal affairs following comments reportedly made by Iran’s parliamentary speaker.

“Iran has never had the intention or engaged in any actions that could be interpreted as interference in Lebanon’s internal matters,” stated Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei during a weekly press briefing.
