On Wednesday, Hezbollah launched attacks on several Israeli posts, including Malkia, Naqoura, Shumira, and Ramia, following a morning of relative calm in the southern Lebanon border area.
In response, the Israeli army conducted strikes on numerous towns along the border, such as Jabal al-Bat, Aitaroun, Mhaibib, al-Labbouneh, al-Naqoura, al-Bustan, Merwahin, Ramia, al-Jebbayn, Yarine, Blida, Kfarshouba, al-Fardis, Rashaya al-Fokhar, al-Khiam, and Maroun al-Rass. These attacks involved artillery shelling as well as missile strikes from warplanes and drones.
Earlier, Israeli warplanes had targeted the southern town of Kfarkela overnight. Hezbollah later announced the loss of one of its fighters in the conflict.
Hezbollah stated its involvement in the conflict began on October 8 in support of Hamas, following the latter’s major attack on southern Israel the previous day.
Since October 7, over 120 individuals have been killed on the Lebanese side, primarily Hezbollah fighters and some civilians. Israel has reported the deaths of six soldiers and four civilians in the area. Hezbollah regularly claims its attacks on Israeli soldiers are direct hits, often asserting that its offensives result in casualties.
