Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant asserted on Wednesday that the Israeli military has successfully eliminated half of Hezbollah’s commanders in southern Lebanon. These statements came after Gallant’s visit to the Israeli army’s Northern Command in Safad, where he conducted an assessment with top officers.
Gallant, in a video statement, highlighted the ongoing offensive actions by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in southern Lebanon. He claimed that as a result of these operations, half of Hezbollah’s commanders in the region have been neutralized, while the remaining half are reportedly in hiding, conceding control to IDF activities.
The defense minister emphasized Israel’s primary objective in the northern region: to facilitate the return of tens of thousands of displaced Israelis to their homes amidst continuous attacks from Hezbollah.
“We are exploring various strategies to achieve this goal, and the upcoming period will be crucial in determining our approach,” Gallant affirmed.
