Hezbollah successfully thwarted two attempts by Israeli forces to cross from northern Israel into southern Lebanon overnight. The group reported employing explosives, artillery shells, and missiles to counter the Israeli troops’ efforts near Kherbet Zar’it and Wadi Qatmoun, close to the southern Lebanese towns of Ramia and Rmeish.
Subsequently, Hezbollah attacked the Zar’it military site and targeted surveillance devices at the Rweissat al-Alam position within the disputed Shebaa Farms area. In retaliation, Israeli aircraft and artillery bombarded Aita al-Shaab and Shihin, and used white phosphorus munitions against Houla and Markaba.
Israeli reports indicate that an anti-tank missile fired from Lebanon struck Margaliot in northern Israel, resulting in one fatality and nine injuries among foreign laborers.
The ongoing skirmishes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces along the Lebanon-Israel frontier have been relentless since the onset of the conflict in Gaza. These confrontations have led to the deaths of over 200 Hezbollah combatants, at least 44 Lebanese civilians, and at least nine Israeli soldiers and nine civilians.
Hezbollah has declared it will maintain its offensive until a ceasefire in Gaza is established but is open to adhering to a truce if one is negotiated.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has pledged to intensify operations against Hezbollah, even in the event of a ceasefire with Hamas in Gaza, insisting on Hezbollah’s withdrawal from the border vicinity.
Recently, an airstrike targeted a residence and a vehicle in Ramia and Naqoura, resulting in the deaths of seven Hezbollah members.
