Hezbollah strikes Israeli Golan air defense

On Monday, Hezbollah launched an attack using suicide drones on a military installation in the Golan Heights, stating they hit an air and missile defense base within a barracks. Additionally, they targeted the Jal al-Alam outpost in northern Israel and a military unit on Tayhat Hill.

The same day, the Israeli military dispersed leaflets over southern Lebanon, marking the second such occurrence since the onset of the Israel-Hamas conflict. These leaflets cautioned the local populace about the risks posed by Hezbollah’s actions.

This violent engagement between Lebanon and Israel has been ongoing since October 8, a day after the Israel-Hamas conflict commenced, primarily involving clashes between the Israeli military and Hezbollah, which declares its actions are in solidarity with Palestine.

The leaflets were dropped over al-Wazzani, emphasizing the danger Hezbollah poses to civilians by integrating their operations within residential zones.

Following an Israeli attack on a residence in Kherbet Selem that resulted in five casualties, Hezbollah executed 12 assaults on northern Israel and the occupied Shebaa Farms on Sunday.

Since the conflict’s beginning on October 8, at least 312 individuals have perished in Lebanon, including Hezbollah militants and 53 civilians. On the Israeli side, there have been 17 casualties, including both soldiers and civilians.

The conflict has displaced tens of thousands, with strikes predominantly concentrated along the border, though recent attacks have targeted Hezbollah sites further north, escalating concerns of a larger conflict.

Hezbollah has asserted that its attacks on Israel will cease only with a ceasefire in Gaza.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has recently stated that such a ceasefire in Gaza would not alter Israel’s objective to dislodge Hezbollah from southern Lebanon, whether through military action or diplomatic efforts.
