Hezbollah Strike Injures Three at Kiryat Shmona Command Center

On Thursday, Hezbollah launched attacks on a military outpost and a command center in northern Israel, coinciding with Israeli artillery fire on several towns along the southern Lebanese border.

Hezbollah’s official statement claimed responsibility for striking the Jalil command center in Kiryat Shmona and the Branit military position. According to Israeli military radio, this assault resulted in injuries to an officer and two soldiers in Kiryat Shmona.

In retaliation, Israeli forces bombarded the Lebanese towns of Kfarkila, al-Khiam, al-Hamames, and areas near Aita al-Shaab.

An Israeli operation in al-Khiam the previous day led to the death of a civilian and injuries to two others.

The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has persisted at a low intensity but with fatal outcomes since the Gaza war commenced.

To date, the clashes have resulted in 228 fatalities in Lebanon, with Hezbollah acknowledging 173 of these as their combatants. On the Israeli side, the conflict has claimed the lives of nine soldiers and nine civilians due to Hezbollah’s actions.

Hezbollah disclosed two additional operations on Wednesday, including a rocket barrage targeting Israeli soldiers and another assault aimed at unspecified “technical equipment.”

International efforts are underway to avert a full-scale conflict along the Lebanon-Israel frontier, reminiscent of the month-long war in 2006 between Israel and Hezbollah, which concluded without a decisive victor.
