Hezbollah has reportedly dismissed proposals by U.S. mediator Amos Hochstein aimed at resolving ongoing border tensions with Israel. However, the group remains open to continued U.S. diplomatic efforts to prevent a full-scale war, as per a media report citing Lebanese officials.
A high-ranking Lebanese official, who is familiar with Hezbollah’s stance, stated that the group is willing to engage in discussions. Nevertheless, they viewed the proposals put forward by Hochstein, an experienced negotiator, during his recent visit to Beirut as impractical.
Among the propositions made last week, one involved de-escalating border hostilities in conjunction with Israel reducing its military activities in Gaza. This information was provided by three Lebanese sources and a U.S. official, according to the reports.
