Italy halting ship rescue mission: activists

Migrants sit on the deck of the Spanish NGO Open Arms ship off southern Sicily, on Friday, Sept. 18, 2020. More than 70 migrants on a rescue ship awaiting permission to dock in southern Italy jumped into the sea in frustration and were picked up by Italian authorities off Palermo, the Spanish charity Open Arms said. The charity's search-and-rescue ship had been carrying some 280 migrants and refugees picked up last week as they tried to cross the Mediterranean in flimsy boats. (AP Photo/Ricardo
