BEIRUT: Lebanon's Prime Minister Najib Mikati will visit Paris this week for talks with French President Emmanuel Macron on his first foreign trip since he formed his Cabinet earlier this month.

Mikati's media office said the premier will fly to the French capital Thursday and hold talks with Macron the next day. The French leader's official agenda confirmed his meeting with the Lebanese prime minister Friday.

The meeting comes after Lebanon's new government won a vote of confidence Monday for a policy program that aims to remedy a devastating economic crisis.
