Lebanese Army finds cache of old weapons in Sidon

BEIRUT: The Lebanese Army Friday set up a security cordon in preparation to blow up a cache of old weapons found in the Sidon area of Sinniq.

A statement from the Army said that a patrol of its Intelligence Branch had found a large quantity of weapons and ammunition that were no longer fit for use.

The Army later closed the main road in Sinniq to allow an engineering team to blow up the weaponry.

An investigation into the origin of the arms was launched with the judiciary.
