Palestinian family dies in late night fire

NABATIEH, Lebanon: A Palestinian family was killed in a house fire in Nabatieh late Sunday, with the blaze believed to have been caused by an electrical problem.

The fire erupted at around 2 a.m. in an apartment in Nabatieh's Imam al-Mahdi neighborhood, leading to the death of the residents, a Palestinian couple, identified as Ibrahim al-Dowali and Maryam al-Hajj, and their three children, Yasmine, 16, Sabrine, 8, and Nadine, 8 months old.

Civil Defense personnel extinguished the fire and retrieved the bodies, which were transferred to Secours Populaire Libanais (Najda Public Hospital) and the Nabih Berri hospital, according to the state-run National News Agency.
