What is happening with all these companies ?! ok so there was a siege going on...
but a lot of employees have payments and the banks did not cut down and going after their money... so why did the employees get 15 % of their salary if not fired?!!?

My son, this is just business. If the country is at war and you were working in an eating establishment, as example, and people were staying home to eat and not going out to eat then the loss of business would leave the owner no choice but to cut back. Its the same here in U.S. but on much larger scale as U.S. allows foreign auto companies (Toyota is good example and, by the way, the insurgents in Iraqi province are using Toyota land cruisers and I wrote to the company explaining this could be a good sales pitch!) to take over the U.S. auto market and Ford and General Motors (big U.S. auto makers) are laying off workers by the tens of thousands! In business it is the owners who make the decisions and not the employees. Its always been that way and the way for you to get out of the situation you complain about is to save your money and begin your own business and be your own boss.

Re: WHAT IS IT WITH THESE WAGES ?????
The debate over minimum wages, after having been more or less dead for quite some time, has again been revived to a limited extent after last week's increase in the federal minimum wage in America from $6.55 per hour to $7.25 per hour. This was the third and final 70 cent increase decided in 2007 when minimum wages was only $5.15 per hour.
Most people, and that includes me, thinks that minimum wages (unless they're so low that they will have no impact on anyone) will increase real wages for some low productive workers, but will also make other low productive workers unemployed. However, because the federal minimum wage was so low to begin with (and because many states had already imposed a higher minimum wage) it seems likely that both the wage increasing and the job destroying effect will be small.
