July 23 will mark the 10th anniversary of the death of Morocco’s King Hassan II and the ascent to the throne of his son Mohammad VI. During his four-decade reign the father cemented a reputation as a wily and vigorous despot, but after a decade in power Mohammad still offers the world a variety of elements – some rooted in Moroccan history.
