Leading Lebanese opposition MP Walid Jumblatt has publicly accused elements of Syria's Baath Party of assassinating his father in 1977. His attack comes a day after the head of the Baath party in Lebanon, Labor Minister Assem Qanso, warned the Democratic Gathering leader: "You are not out of reach of our militants."
