BEIRUT: Police are planning traffic measures ahead of a Friday demonstration to be held at Beirut’s Martyrs Square to protest against an anti-Islam movie, the Internal Security Forces said. Between 5 p.m. and the end of the demonstration, traffic coming from Forum de Beirut/Karantina toward Saifi will be diverted at the Expatriate Museum toward the port’s main entrance; traffic from George Haddad Street will be diverted toward Charles Helou Avenue; traffic from Damascus Road and intersecting with Fouad Chehab Bridge will be diverted toward Bourj al-Ghazal; traffic coming from Riyad al-Solh toward Al-Amin Mosque will be diverted at Azarieh intersection toward Fouad Chehab Bridge. Cars will not be allowed to park between Expatriate Statue/Charles Helou Avenue, Wegan Street and Martyrs Square; between Fouad Chehab Bridge, Wegan Street, Amir Bashir Street, Riyad al-Solh Square and George Haddad-Gouraud Street intersection.
